Metal-seated ball valve
Metal-seated ball valves are introduced when the temperature and pressure rating of fluids override the limit of traditional PTFE-seated ball valves. Metal-seated ball valves combine the advantage of both gate valves and PTFE-seated ball valves, and are recommanded in some extreme conditions.
The Manufacturing and maintenance of metal-seated ball valves are challenging, because of the difficulty of matching arc sealing faces of seats and balls. Both seats and balls are normally hardened to avoiding the scratches in use.
