For gate valves which sizes are 2"(DN50) and smaller, forged steel valves are introduced. Compared with castings, forged valve bodies offer the advantages of more uniform structure, greater density, higher strength integrity, enhanced dimensional characteristics and closer dimensional tolerances.

The design of forged steel gate valves are also various: Full port, conventional port / reduced port; bolt bonnet, welded bonnet and pressure seal bonnet; socket weld (SW), threaded, butt welded (BW) and flanged end. Special designs include bellows seal gate valve, cryogenic gate valve to -196C, extended body gate valve, per customers' requirements.
